There is a profane sadness I feel when I look at the state of my state’s police state.

The people can’t seem to get a break from being served and protected by casings and lead.

The law has become lawless

and too many innocent lives left lifeless.

My head asks, “what is wrong with your heads? Is there grand machismo in making the innocent dead?”

Or are you seeking paid early retirement where the pay outweighs your conscience and is more valuable to you than the lives you splayed?

Or maybe it’s fear, pure and clear. If that’s the case, maybe you have no business in your current place.

We’re not looking for a hero, we just want the casualties to be zero.
